Fetal Heart Monitoring Explained: Essential Guide for Student Nurses

 Prof. Rivera-Mitu led discussions on the interpretation and measurement of fetal heart rate and contractions during labor and delivery, including the significance of variability and the classification of decelerations. She also established a new baseline for the fetal heart rate and emphasized the importance of real-time monitoring of the mother's progress and the baby's well-being. Lastly, she identified potential causes and indicators of fetal distress, highlighting the need for timely interventions if the baby's condition deteriorates.

Courses are open to vocational nursing students, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, healthcare professionals, and ANYONE interested in learning about the medical/nursing field, or looking to build or refresh their clinical knowledge. 


 We offer practical, high-yield courses in:

  • Cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, and endocrine pathophysiology
  • Various Medical-surgical nursing topics
  • Pediatrics, maternal-child health, gerontology, psychiatry/mental health topics

Most courses are delivered live via Zoom. Some may be recorded and offered later as self-paced modules. 


Live in-person classes may also be offered.

 Yes, all participants who complete a course will receive a certificate of completion that may be used for professional development or CEU documentation (pending BRN approval for CEUs).
